Due to the efforts of a merchant named Malik Masood, Ghiyas Veg got a job in the court of Akbar. In 1594 AD, Mehrunnisha was married to Ali Quli Veg (Lion Afghana). After the death of Sher Afghan in 1607 AD, Jahangir married Mehrunnisha in 1611 AD and gave him the titles of Nur Jahan and Nur Mahal. After marriage, Nur Jahan formed the Nur Jahan group. Nur Jahan was a woman of educated and sharp intellect. He was interested in poetry, music and painting. He also got a library built. Because she was extraordinarily beautiful, educated, and cultured. His talent was multifaceted. He was interested in poetry and painting. Her interest in make-up, jewelery and clothes was refined. Therefore, it is not surprising that Emperor Jahangir came under his powerful and seductive influence and he also gave him the right to rule and wear symbols of the emperor. Jahangir himself used to say that "All I need is a bottle of wine and nothing more than half a lion's meat to eat." She herself used to give darshan to the people from the window, all the orders of the government were taken out in her name, she used to give the same orders to the high officials, her name was also inscribed on the coin. Apart from this, he also had to sign the royal orders with the emperor.
Nur Jahan's Diplomacy: ------ The use of his influence in getting high position and mansab to his father, brother, and other relatives during his first predominance (1611--1622 AD) definitely showed that Nur Jahan Other high officials were dissatisfied with this and there was some tension in the atmosphere of the court.
Nur Jahan Group:----- Nur Jahan had formed his own party after some time of his marriage. Due to which he had to face difficult problems. This group included his father Ghiyas Veg, mother Asmat Begum, his brother Asaf Khan and Prince Khurram (Shah Jahan). In that all were qualified and sitting in the top posts of the state. The dominance of this party was established till 1622 AD. Nur Jahan's period of influence is divided into two parts-- was with him.

1*Rebellion of Khurram:---- Nur Jahan's ambitions knew no bounds. He had now realized that when Shah Jahan became the emperor, his influence would be reduced in the works of governance, so Nur Jahan started giving importance to Shahryar, the second son of Jahangir. She wanted to become powerful forever by ending Khurram's influence at all costs. In 1621-22 AD, she became more autocratic after the death of Nur Jahan's parents, now there was no one to help her. Jahangir's health was continuously deteriorating. In such a situation, Khurram also became apprehensive of the increasing power and abilities of Nur Jahan. He rebelled against him. This rebellion was definitely the result of Nur Jahan's gluttony of power. This rebellion lasted for three years. As a result, the power of the Mughal Empire was adversely affected.
Revolt of Mahavat Khan:-----Nur Jahan became jealous of the success of Mahavat Khan, who played an important role in suppressing Shah Jahan's rebellion. Due to which his influence and popularity increased. Because he was dissatisfied with the growing influence of Nur Jahan. Nur Jahan was also terrified of Mahavat Khan's ability and popularity. That is why he had appointed Mahavat Khan on the border of Afghanistan. Taking this as an insult, Mahavat Khan revolted in 1626 AD and took Jahangir as a prisoner. However, this rebellion was soon suppressed. The fact that Jahangir lost a great commander in old age cannot be denied. However, in this whole incident, Asaf Khan, the brother-in-law of Nur Jahan, Shah Jahan's father-in-law, was involved. However, it is also true that Nur Jahan herself also wanted to end the power of Mahavat Khan.

Nur Jahan was unable to get Shahryar to the throne and had to spend the rest of her life in a miserable condition during the reign of Khurram.
